HySecurity MX001634, Motor, Electric, 60Hz, 3/4 hp, 3PH, 3450 RPM, 208/230/460VAC
HySecurity MX001634 is a 3/4 hp, 3-phase electric motor for select HySecurity StrongArm barrier gate operator applications. HySecurity StrongArm parts documentation lists MX001634 as "Motor, Electric, 60Hz, 3/4 hp, 3, 3450 RPM, 208/230/460VAC" for StrongArm models using 208/230/460VAC, 60Hz, 3-phase power.
This motor is part of the StrongArm hydraulic pump drive system. Because motor fitment depends on horsepower, voltage, phase, frequency, RPM, mounting style, shaft/coupler arrangement, and pump pack configuration, MX001634 should be selected only after confirming the original motor tag and the HySecurity parts diagram.
What This Electric Motor Does
The electric motor drives the hydraulic pump pack used by the StrongArm barrier gate operator. In a properly matched 3-phase StrongArm system, the motor supplies the rotation needed for the pump to build hydraulic flow and operate the barrier arm.
A failed, incorrectly wired, overloaded, or mismatched motor can cause no operation, tripped protection, overheating, abnormal noise, poor hydraulic performance, incorrect pump rotation, or failure to move the barrier arm. Similar symptoms can also be caused by a failed contactor, incorrect incoming voltage, phase loss, bad overload protection, pump binding, coupler damage, hydraulic system issues, controller output problems, or a mechanically bound arm.
Compatible With
Use HySecurity MX001634 only where the operator parts diagram, original motor tag, or HySecurity documentation confirms this part number.
- Select HySecurity StrongArm barrier gate operator applications using 208/230/460VAC, 60Hz, 3-phase power where MX001634 is listed.
- StrongArm 3-phase AC pump drive repairs where the original motor is marked, listed, or cross-referenced as HySecurity MX001634.
- Applications requiring a 3/4 hp, 3450 RPM, 60Hz, 3-phase electric motor where the motor tag and parts diagram confirm MX001634.
- StrongArm hydraulic pump pack applications where the motor mounting, shaft, coupler, voltage wiring, and pump configuration match the original installation.
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not order MX001634 based only on horsepower. This motor is a 3/4 hp, 3-phase, 60Hz, 3450 RPM motor for 208/230/460VAC StrongArm applications. It should not be used on 1-phase, 24VDC, or 50Hz operators unless HySecurity documentation specifically confirms the replacement.
Three-phase motor wiring must match the available site power and the motor nameplate configuration. Incorrect voltage wiring, phase loss, wrong rotation, or mismatched overload protection can damage the motor, pump pack, or hydraulic system. A qualified technician should verify voltage, phase, rotation, and protection settings during service.

Related Parts and Accessories
The correct related parts depend on the installed StrongArm model, motor type, pump pack configuration, and reason the motor is being replaced. Inspect the full motor and pump drive area before ordering only the motor.
- MX002054 motor coupler, 5/8 inch shaft, 6T - related coupler for operators manufactured after 6/1/2009 where specified.
- MX001650 motor coupler, 5/8 inch shaft, 9T, old - related older coupler for pump packs manufactured before 6/1/2009 where specified.
- Motor contactor and overload protection - inspect if the motor does not receive proper 3-phase power.
- StrongArm pump pack assemblies - inspect if the pump is binding, leaking, or damaged.
- Hydraulic pump, valves, manifolds, hoses, and fittings - inspect if motor load is high or arm movement is poor.
- Incoming power and phase rotation - verify before returning the operator to service.
Technician Note
Before replacing MX001634, confirm the original motor nameplate. Verify 3/4 hp, 3-phase, 60Hz, 3450 RPM, and the correct voltage configuration. Also inspect the motor coupler, pump shaft, pump pack, contactor, overload protection, incoming power, and phase rotation.
If the motor trips overloads, overheats, or fails to run, do not assume the motor is the only failed part. Phase loss, low voltage, incorrect wiring, a failed contactor, pump binding, hydraulic pressure problems, or a mechanically bound barrier arm can damage a replacement motor quickly.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The required part number is MX001634.
- The operator is a HySecurity StrongArm application where the parts diagram lists MX001634.
- The motor is 3/4 hp, 60Hz, 3-phase, 3450 RPM.
- The site power and motor wiring match 208/230/460VAC operation as shown on the motor nameplate.
- The repair requires the motor only, not the motor coupler, contactor, overload, pump pack, hydraulic pump, or controller.
- The installed operator is not a 1-phase or 24VDC configuration.
- The motor shaft, mounting, coupler, and pump pack arrangement match the original installation.
- The starting problem is not being caused by phase loss, low voltage, contactor failure, overload settings, pump binding, or hydraulic system load.
Installation and Service Notes
- Disconnect and lock out operator power before servicing the motor or pump pack area.
- Three-phase motor wiring should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with the site voltage and motor nameplate.
- Verify motor voltage wiring before energizing the operator.
- Verify phase rotation before normal operation so the pump runs in the correct direction.
- Inspect the motor coupler, pump shaft, mounting hardware, contactor, and overload protection during replacement.
- Do not bypass overload protection, fuses, breakers, contactors, controller protections, or stop circuits to keep the operator running.
- After installation, verify proper motor operation, hydraulic pump performance, arm travel, limit operation, and all required safety devices.
Professional Advisory
Three-phase motor replacement should be handled by a qualified gate technician or qualified electrical professional. This repair can involve high voltage, 3-phase wiring, phase rotation, overload settings, pump pack load, hydraulic pressure, heavy barrier arms, and safety-critical operator movement. Do not bypass overload protection, contactors, fuses, breakers, controller protections, limit controls, stop circuits, access control safety inputs, photo eyes, safety edges, or any required safety devices.
