HySecurity MX4265, Target Magnet, SwingSmart 535
HySecurity MX4265 is a target magnet used on select HySecurity SwingSmart CNX swing gate operator applications. Current listings describe MX4265 as a plastic magnet used to trip the open and close sensors, with mounting at the taper clamp hub.
Important note: the provided product description references SwingSmart 535, but the strongest current part-number matches identify MX4265 for SwingSmart CNX, including SwingSmart CNX 20 applications. Because target magnet fitment depends on sensor location, hub style, operator generation, and parts-diagram confirmation, verify the operator model, serial number, taper clamp hub arrangement, and HySecurity parts diagram before ordering.
What This Target Magnet Does
The target magnet provides the magnetic target used by the operator's open and close sensing system. As the operator moves through its travel, the magnet passes the target sensor area so the control system can detect the proper position reference where the system is designed to use it.
A missing, damaged, misaligned, or incorrectly mounted target magnet can contribute to limit learning problems, open or close sensor errors, inconsistent position detection, or failure of the operator to recognize travel correctly. Similar symptoms can also be caused by sensor failure, wiring issues, controller faults, loose hub hardware, incorrect setup, damaged drive components, or physical gate movement problems.

Important Compatibility Warning
Do not order MX4265 based only on the words "target magnet" or "SwingSmart." Current listings identify MX4265 primarily for SwingSmart CNX applications, while the provided description references SwingSmart 535. SwingSmart CNX, SwingSmart 535, SwingSmart DC, and other HySecurity swing operators may use different sensing parts, magnet positions, hub components, or setup procedures.
This part should not be confused with the target sensor itself. The magnet and the sensor work together, but they are not the same part. If the operator is showing a target, limit, or travel-related fault, verify whether the issue is the magnet, sensor, wiring, controller setup, or mechanical position before ordering.

Related Parts and Accessories
The correct related parts depend on the operator model, sensor arrangement, hub style, and the reason the target magnet is being replaced. Inspect the full sensing area before ordering only the magnet.
- Target sensor or open/close sensor - detects the magnet; not the same as MX4265.
- Taper clamp hub - mounting location for the target magnet; separate mechanical component.
- Mounting screw or fastener - verify whether included with the magnet package.
- Controller or SmartCNX board - may report target/limit faults but should not be replaced before checking the magnet and sensor.
- Wire harness and sensor wiring - inspect if the target is installed but not detected.
- Gearbox, motor, and drive components - inspect if travel position problems are caused by mechanical movement rather than magnet detection.
Technician Note
Before replacing MX4265, inspect the existing magnet location, taper clamp hub, sensor face, mounting screw, and wiring to the open/close sensor circuit. A target fault or position detection issue may be caused by a missing magnet, weak or damaged magnet, incorrect mounting position, loose hub hardware, dirty sensor face, damaged sensor, wiring fault, or controller setup issue.
If the operator is a SwingSmart 535, verify MX4265 directly against the SwingSmart 535 parts diagram before ordering. Current part-number matches point strongest to SwingSmart CNX, so the model-family label should be checked carefully.
