LiftMaster 387LM 4-Pack Universal Wireless Keyless Entry Keypads
The LiftMaster 387LM 4-Pack is a multipack of universal wireless keyless entry keypads used for PIN-based garage door opener control. This is a practical option for properties that need several keypads at once, such as multi-door residential garages, rental homes, service companies, small facilities, and replacement inventory. Each keypad allows an authorized user to operate a compatible opener without a handheld remote, making it useful for family access, service access, tenant access, and outdoor entry points where a wired wall control is not practical.
The 387LM keypad family is commonly associated with LiftMaster universal keypad applications and works by programming to the opener or compatible receiver radio system. It is not tied to one single opener model; compatibility is driven mainly by the opener learn button color, code type, and receiver technology. This makes it useful across many LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, and related Chamberlain Group openers made after the early 1990s, while still requiring careful programming for the correct code family.
Use this keypad when an existing wireless keypad is missing, worn, weathered, has failing buttons, or when a property needs additional PIN-code entry locations. If the opener has a damaged receiver, weak antenna, no learn button access, or an unusual external receiver, correct that issue before assuming the keypad is the problem.
Compatible With
The 387LM is commonly used with a broad range of compatible LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, and related garage door opener systems. Compatibility depends on learn button color, code type, and receiver technology.

Important Compatibility Notes
- This keypad is not for every DIP-switch receiver or every commercial access-control system.
- Some older systems may require a dedicated fixed-code keypad or a separate compatible receiver.
- If the opener uses a damaged logic board, poor antenna, or failed receiver, replacing the keypad alone may not correct the issue.
- For yellow learn button systems, follow Security+ 2.0 programming steps rather than older Security+ programming steps.

Technician Note
Match the keypad to the opener by learn button color and code type, not just by the LiftMaster or Chamberlain name on the cover. A universal keypad may support several radio formats, but the programming sequence changes by system. If the opener has an external receiver, confirm the receiver model and learn button or DIP-switch setup before programming.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The opener or receiver uses a supported LiftMaster/Chamberlain code family.
- The learn button color is green, red/orange/amber, purple, or yellow round, when using learn-button programming.
- The application needs wireless PIN-code entry rather than a wired wall station.
- The current keypad failure is not caused by a bad receiver, poor antenna, weak opener power, or logic board issue.
- The pack quantity matches the number of keypad locations needed.
Professional Advisory
Program and test each keypad with the garage door in full view. Do not use a keypad to operate a door with damaged springs, broken hardware, unsafe travel, missing photo eyes, or a known reversal problem. If a door moves poorly by hand or reverses unpredictably, have the door and opener inspected before adding new controls.
