Liftmaster 877LM 2-Pack Standard Wireless Keypad
The LiftMaster 877LM 2-pack is a multi-keypad package for compatible Security+ 2.0 garage door opener systems. It is a good choice when several yellow learn-button openers need matching exterior access, such as a home with multiple garage doors, a small property with multiple tenant doors, or a service company stocking standard Security+ 2.0 keypads. Each keypad is programmed to the opener separately and normally uses a private 4-digit PIN. Unlike a wall-mounted door control, the 877LM does not connect to the opener terminals. It is a battery-powered wireless keypad that communicates by radio with the compatible opener logic board or receiver.
This pack is best used when the customer already knows the openers are Security+ 2.0 yellow learn-button models. Keeping all keypads in the same family helps reduce programming confusion on multi-door jobs. It also avoids the common mistake of ordering a universal MAX-style keypad when the customer actually wants the standard yellow-button keypad used with a newer opener.
What This Keypad Does
The 877LM gives users keyless entry by entering a programmed PIN and pressing ENTER. It is commonly mounted outside the garage door at a reachable but child-safe height. On compatible systems, temporary PIN features may be used for visitors, service personnel, or deliveries. The keypad does not replace the opener wall station, safety sensors, receiver logic board, or myQ control device.
Compatible With
Compatible With: Select LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, and Raynor Security+ 2.0 garage door opener systems using a yellow learn button and two yellow antennas. This keypad is designed for the Security+ 2.0 family and should not be used as a universal replacement for older learn-button colors.
Common Security+ 2.0 model references include 87504-267, 87802, 84602, 84501, 85503-267, 8550WLB, 8360WLB, 8160WB, 8500W, WLED, 8550W, 8587W, 8557W, 8360W, 8355W, 8365W-267, 8160W, 8165W, 8155W, 8164W, 8365-267, 8160, 8165, 8155, 8065, 8010, 8550, 8587, 8557, 8360, 8355, 8500, 8500C. Compatibility should still be confirmed by the learn button and owner manual, especially where an opener has been repaired with a replacement logic board.
The accessory chart commonly ties the 877LM keypad to newer Elite and Premium Series yellow learn-button models such as 83650-267 and 87504-267, while the broader Security+ 2.0 family includes many additional yellow learn-button LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, and Raynor units.
Not compatible with older green Billion Code 390 MHz, red/orange Security+ 390 MHz, or purple Security+ 315 MHz openers. For those older technologies, look at the 877MAX/878MAX or another keypad matched to the receiver technology.

Technician Note
The 877LM is often ordered when a customer says they have a yellow learn button keypad. That is usually correct, but still check the opener generation and any external receiver. If the opener has been upgraded or repaired, the logic board installed in the unit may matter more than the cover label.
Before Ordering
- Confirm every opener being paired has a yellow learn button and two yellow antennas.
- Confirm the customer needs the 877LM standard keypad and not the broader 877MAX/878MAX family.
- Check pack quantity against the number of doors, tenants, or service trucks being stocked.
- Replace the keypad battery before assuming a programming failure.
- Do not bypass photo eyes or other safety devices to test keypad operation.
Professional Advisory
If the door will not close from the keypad, check safety sensors, door balance, opener lock mode, and travel settings. A keypad should never be used to work around a door that is binding, an opener that reverses due to safety faults, or a missing entrapment protection device.
Product Questions & Answers
Is the 877LM 2-pack only for yellow learn-button openers?
Yes. The 877LM is designed for Security+ 2.0 openers with a yellow learn button and two yellow antennas. Older green, red/orange, or purple learn-button systems need a different keypad family.
877LM is the Security+ 2.0 keypad for yellow learn-button systems. 877MAX and 878MAX are broader MAX-style keypads that also cover older green, red/orange, and purple learn-button technologies.
Can each keypad in this 2-pack be programmed to a different door?
Yes. Each keypad is programmed individually, so the pack can be used across multiple compatible openers or kept as replacement inventory.
What battery does the 877LM use?
The 877LM is a wireless keypad that uses a 9V battery style power source. Replace the battery when the keypad light becomes dim, range drops, or the keypad does not wake up normally.
What should be checked if the 877LM will not program?
Confirm the opener has a yellow learn button, make sure the opener light works as a programming indicator, replace a weak keypad battery, clear memory only when appropriate, and avoid forcing programming on an incompatible older opener.
