Miller Edge RB-TX10C 10K/T2 RBand Transmitter Technical Details
The Miller Edge RB-TX10C is a monitored wireless sensing-edge transmitter for the RBand product family. It connects to a Miller Edge 10K/T2 monitored sensing edge and communicates the edge condition to a compatible RB-P-K10C or RB-G-K10C receiver.
The transmitter mounts near the moving sensing edge, eliminating the coil cord or moving hard-wired connection that would otherwise run between the edge and operator. The compatible receiver remains wired to the operator and determines which output signal is provided to the control board.
What the RB-TX10C Does
The RB-TX10C monitors the connected 10K/T2 sensing edge and sends its condition wirelessly to the paired receiver. When the edge is compressed, disconnected, damaged, or develops a termination fault, the receiver changes its output so the operator can provide its programmed stop or reverse response.
The transmitter does not connect directly to the door or gate operator. A compatible RBand receiver is required to receive the wireless signal and provide the correct monitored or relay output.
Compatible With
- Miller Edge 10K/T2 monitored sensing edges
- T2 edges commonly identified by a blue band on the Miller Edge edge cable
- Miller Edge RB-P-K10C single-channel pulsed and N.O. receiver systems
- Miller Edge RB-G-K10C two-channel 10K and N.C. receiver systems
- Select motorized commercial door, garage door, grille, and automated gate operators when used with the correct receiver
- Applications requiring monitored wireless communication between a moving sensing edge and operator
Exact operator compatibility depends on the receiver model, receiver output, operator control board, monitored input, accessory voltage, and current operator manual. The RB-TX10C transmitter alone does not determine operator compatibility.
10K/T2 Sensing Edge Requirement
RB-TX10C requires a Miller Edge 10K/T2 monitored sensing edge. Miller Edge commonly identifies this termination with a blue band on the sensing-edge cable.
A properly functioning inactive T2 edge normally measures approximately 10K ohms, but resistance should not be the only identification method. Verify the edge label, cable band, termination components, existing transmitter model, and applicable parts documentation.
Compatible RBand Receivers
- RB-P-K10C: Single-channel system providing photo-eye-style pulsed and normally open receiver outputs. Supports up to three compatible transmitters.
- RB-G-K10C: Two-channel gate-oriented system providing 10K and normally closed receiver outputs. Supports up to three transmitters per channel, for up to six total.
The transmitter must be learned into the receiver. Replacing a transmitter may require erasing receiver memory and pairing every required transmitter again. Record all existing transmitters and their assigned channels before clearing receiver programming.
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not select RB-TX10C based only on the enclosure appearance, radio frequency, wire count, or an edge reading near 10K ohms. Receiver generations, transmitter suffixes, sensing-edge terminations, operator outputs, and programming procedures must match.
RB-TX10C is not intended for diode-capacitor DC/T3 edges, 8.2K/T1 edges, non-terminated edges, or non-monitored sensing edges. Installing the wrong termination can create a persistent receiver fault or prevent proper obstruction detection.

Technician Note
The advertised 100-foot distance is a maximum under optimal conditions. Steel door sections, gate frames, operator cabinets, structural metal, nearby wireless equipment, antenna placement, and lack of clear line of sight can reduce usable range.
Mount the transmitter where it remains within the receiver's RF path throughout the full door or gate travel. Do not drill or modify the NEMA 4 transmitter enclosure or remove the circuit board, because modifications may reduce environmental protection and void the manufacturer warranty.
A replacement transmitter must be paired to the receiver. When programming problems occur, current instructions may require erasing receiver memory and pairing all required transmitters again.

Installation and Safety Advisory
Installation, pairing, wiring, testing, and maintenance should be completed by qualified commercial door, garage door, gate, or low-voltage personnel following current Miller Edge instructions and the operator manufacturer manual.
Never bypass a monitored input, jumper an entrapment-protection circuit, substitute a DC/T3 transmitter for a 10K/T2 edge, or use an incompatible receiver to conceal a safety fault.
Test the sensing edge near both ends and at the center after installation and during regular maintenance. Replace damaged transmitters, sensing edges, enclosures, cables, or terminations before returning the operator to service.
Product Questions & Answers
What sensing edge works with the Miller Edge RB-TX10C?
RB-TX10C requires a Miller Edge 10K/T2 monitored sensing edge, commonly identified by a blue band on the sensing-edge cable.
Which receivers are compatible with RB-TX10C?
RB-TX10C is intended for compatible RB-P-K10C and RB-G-K10C RBand receiver systems. Verify the exact receiver model, suffix, and generation before ordering.
Is a receiver included with the RB-TX10C transmitter?
No. RB-TX10C is a transmitter-only replacement. A compatible RBand receiver and 10K/T2 sensing edge are required for a complete operating system.
Are batteries included with the RB-TX10C?
The complete RB-P-K10C system includes two AA 3.6V lithium batteries, but standalone RB-TX10C package contents were not explicitly confirmed. Verify the current package before ordering.
Can standard 1.5V AA batteries be used in RB-TX10C?
No. RB-TX10C requires two AA 3.6V lithium batteries such as ER14505 or equivalent. Standard 1.5V AA batteries are not compatible.
What is the wireless range of RB-TX10C?
The RBand system has a 50-foot nominal range and may reach 100 feet under optimal conditions. Metal obstructions, antenna placement, RF interference, and lack of line of sight can reduce actual range.
Can RB-TX10C replace an RB-TX20 or RB-TX20C transmitter?
No. RB-TX10C is for a 10K/T2 sensing edge. RB-TX20-family transmitters are designed for diode-capacitor DC/T3 sensing edges.
Does a replacement RB-TX10C need to be programmed?
Yes. The transmitter must be paired with the compatible receiver. Replacing it may require erasing receiver memory and pairing every required transmitter again.
