HySecurity MX5349, XtremeDrive Wheel Kit, 6 inch
The HySecurity MX5349 is a 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel and hub kit for select HySecurity and Nice HySecurity SlideDriver gate operators. It is commonly listed as the XtremeDrive Wheel Kit, 6 inch and as the 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel conversion kit for compatible SlideDriver systems.
This kit is used on SlideDriver operator models that use the 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel system. HySecuritys XtremeDrive system uses a cogged lower drive wheel that engages a matching rack mounted to the drive rail. This design helps improve traction on difficult gates, heavy gates, stiff gates, and installations exposed to challenging weather or rail contamination.
HySecurity technical guidance notes that the 6-inch and 8-inch XtremeDrive wheels were updated so the new XtremeDrive wheel and hub assemblies mechanically match the newer AdvanceDrive wheel assemblies. MX5349 is the 6-inch wheel and hub kit. The related 8-inch wheel and hub kit is MX5350.
What This Wheel Kit Does
The MX5349 kit replaces or updates the 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel and hub assembly on compatible SlideDriver operators. The XtremeDrive wheel works with the matching XtremeDrive rack on the underside of the drive rail to provide positive traction instead of relying only on smooth wheel pressure against the rail.
This part is a mechanical drive component, not a motor, hydraulic pump, controller board, hose kit, or complete drive assembly. Replacing the wheel kit can help correct worn, damaged, or outdated XtremeDrive wheel assembly issues, but it will not repair a dragging gate, damaged rack, misaligned rail, worn bearings, weak hydraulic drive system, or incorrect drive wheel pressure.
Compatible With
The HySecurity MX5349 is intended for select HySecurity SlideDriver operator models that use 6-inch XtremeDrive wheels. Compatibility depends on the operator model, serial number, existing wheel diameter, XtremeDrive rack setup, wheel hub configuration, drive shaft condition, and current HySecurity parts documentation.
- Select HySecurity SlideDriver operators using 6-inch XtremeDrive wheels
- Select SlideDriver XtremeDrive rack and wheel system applications where MX5349 is listed
- 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel and hub replacement applications where the updated wheel/hub kit is required
- Older 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel assembly update applications where HySecurity specifies MX5349
- Applications where the existing lower wheel engages the matching XtremeDrive rack on the drive rail
Do not assume MX5349 fits every HySecurity SlideDriver, SlideDriver II, SlideSmart, SwingSmart, StrongArm, HydraSwing, HydraLift, HydraWedge, barrier arm, Smart DC, Smart Touch, or SmartCNX operator. XtremeDrive wheels are model- and size-specific, and some operators use standard drive wheels, AdvanceDrive wheels, 8-inch XtremeDrive wheels, or other drive wheel assemblies.
HySecurity lists several related XtremeDrive wheel part numbers. These should not be treated as interchangeable without checking wheel diameter, hub requirement, and operator parts documentation.
- MX5349: 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel and hub kit.
- MX5350: 8-inch XtremeDrive wheel and hub kit.
- MX5351: 6-inch XtremeDrive replacement wheel with lug nuts.
- MX5352: 8-inch XtremeDrive replacement wheel with lug nuts.
If the hub is worn, damaged, or being updated from the older XtremeDrive assembly style, MX5349 may be the correct kit. If only the wheel is being replaced and the existing hub is the correct updated style, a wheel-only part such as MX5351 may be the better fit where listed by HySecurity.
Not Intended For
- Universal SlideDriver wheel replacement
- 8-inch XtremeDrive wheel applications that require MX5350 or MX5352
- Wheel-only replacement where MX5351 is specifically required instead of the wheel and hub kit
- Standard smooth drive wheel applications without XtremeDrive rack
- AdvanceDrive wheel applications unless HySecurity documentation confirms the relationship
- SlideSmart or other chain-drive operator applications
- Replacing the hydraulic motor, pump pack, hose kit, controller board, or complete drive assembly
- Repairing poor traction caused by damaged rack, incorrect rail height, poor gate movement, or improper wheel pressure without correcting the cause
Important Compatibility Warning
MX5349 should be selected by wheel diameter, XtremeDrive system type, hub requirement, and HySecurity parts diagram. A 6-inch wheel kit is not interchangeable with an 8-inch kit, and a wheel-and-hub kit is not the same as a wheel-only replacement.
Before ordering, inspect the XtremeDrive rack, drive rail, hub, shaft, lug nuts, wheel wear pattern, and operator drive assembly. If the rack is damaged or the gate is not moving freely, replacing the wheel kit alone may not correct the issue.

Technician Note
The MX5349 kit should be used when the operator has a 6-inch XtremeDrive wheel system and the wheel/hub kit is required. If the existing hub is already the correct updated style and only the wheel is worn, verify whether MX5351 is the better wheel-only replacement.
XtremeDrive traction depends on more than the wheel. The rack, drive rail, hub, wheel pressure, gate movement, rail cleanliness, and drive system all need to be checked. A new wheel kit can wear quickly if the rack is damaged, the gate is dragging, or the wheel is not aligned with the rack properly.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- Confirm the needed HySecurity part number is MX5349.
- Confirm the operator uses the XtremeDrive rack and wheel system.
- Confirm the existing wheel diameter is 6 inches, not 8 inches.
- Confirm whether the job requires the wheel and hub kit, not the wheel-only replacement.
- Confirm the operator parts diagram lists MX5349 or the older 6-inch XtremeDrive assembly has been updated to MX5349.
- Confirm the XtremeDrive rack is not damaged, loose, missing teeth, or badly worn.
- Confirm the drive rail is clean, straight, and correctly aligned.
- Confirm the hub, shaft, collar, lug nuts, and related hardware are not damaged.
- Confirm the gate rolls freely and is not dragging, binding, sagging, or oversized for the operator.
- Confirm package contents, including hub, wheel, lug nuts, collar hardware, bolts, instructions, and any required service hardware.
Installation and Service Notes
Disable the operator and secure the gate before servicing the drive wheel assembly. The SlideDriver drive wheel area has pinch points and moving components that can cause injury if the gate or operator moves during service.
Inspect the XtremeDrive rack and drive rail before installing the new kit. Follow HySecurity service guidance for removing the old wheel assembly, installing the updated wheel and hub kit, and checking wheel engagement with the rack. After installation, test the gate through full open and close travel and verify smooth movement, proper traction, correct drive pressure, and working safety devices.
Professional Advisory
Drive wheel service should be handled by a qualified HySecurity gate technician when the gate is heavy, the drive system is slipping, the rack is damaged, or the operator has repeated traction problems. The technician should inspect the full drive system, not only the wheel kit.
Do not bypass covers, guards, limits, monitored entrapment protection, photo eyes, safety edges, or other required safety devices during service. The SlideDriver should be fully tested after repair to confirm proper drive traction, smooth travel, limits, and safety-device function.
