SECO-LARM SK-1323-BDQ Stand-Alone Keypad Access Control Details
The SECO-LARM SK-1323-BDQ ENFORCER is a sealed black-housing stand-alone digital access keypad designed for outdoor gate, door, and access-control applications. Because the keypad contains its own user-code memory and relay outputs, it can provide local access control without requiring a separate keypad controller for basic operation.
The SK-1323-BDQ supports up to 1,010 user codes and operates from 12 to 24 VAC or VDC. Two independent Form C relay outputs provide N.O., N.C., and Common contacts for interfacing with compatible gate operators, electric locks, access-control inputs, alarm functions, or other low-voltage equipment.
Up to 1,010 User Codes
The SK-1323-BDQ supports up to 1,010 user codes. User-code length can be programmed from 2 to 6 digits, allowing the installer to select a code format appropriate for the application.
EEPROM memory retains programmed information if operating power is lost, so normal user programming does not need to be re-entered after a routine power interruption.
Dual Form C Relay Outputs
The keypad provides two Form C relay outputs. Each relay includes Normally Open, Normally Closed, and Common contacts and is rated at 1A at 30VDC.
- Output 1: Form C N.O./N.C./COM relay
- Output 2: Form C N.O./N.C./COM relay
- Relay rating: 1A at 30VDC
- Timed activation: 1 to 99 seconds
- Toggle operation: Available
- Output 2 can alternatively be programmed for doorbell operation
The relay rating must be checked against the connected device. Do not assume the keypad relay can directly power every electric strike, magnetic lock, gate accessory, or other load. A suitable power supply or additional relay may be required.

Two Egress Inputs
Two normally-open egress inputs allow separate request-to-exit devices to trigger Output 1 or Output 2 without entering a keypad code. This can be useful with compatible exit push buttons, motion request-to-exit devices, or other dry-contact controls.
The connected egress device and wiring must match the keypad input requirements.
Door Sensor Input and Anti-Tailgating
The SK-1323-BDQ includes a normally-closed door sensor input. SECO-LARM provides this input for door-status and anti-tailgating functions when the keypad is installed with the appropriate door contact and system configuration.
Confirm the required contact type and system behavior before connecting a gate position switch or door contact. A door sensor input should not be confused with monitored gate entrapment protection.
Optical Tamper Protection
An optical tamper sensor is located on the rear of the keypad. When enabled, exposure of the sensor can activate the keypad's tamper alarm, providing an additional indication if the unit is removed from its mounting surface.
Wrong-Code Lockout
The keypad includes protection against repeated invalid attempts. After five consecutive incorrect code entries, the keypad enters a one-minute lockout period. Additional keypad activity during the lockout can extend the lockout time.
Outdoor IP65 Construction
The SK-1323-BDQ uses an aluminum-alloy housing with epoxy-sealed circuitry and an IP65 weatherproof rating. The black housing differentiates this model from the brushed-aluminum SK-1323-SDQ.
For a weather-resistant installation, the mounting method, back box, penetrations, faceplate, and fasteners must be properly sealed according to the installation instructions. IP65 does not mean the keypad can be installed with unsealed wiring openings or submerged in water.
Backlit Keypad
LED-backlit keys improve visibility for nighttime access. SECO-LARM publishes a keypad LED life of approximately 60,000 hours, or more than 6.8 years of continuous operation.
SK-1323-BDQ vs. SK-1323-BPQ
| Model | Main Difference |
| SK-1323-BDQ | Black stand-alone digital keypad without proximity card reader |
| SK-1323-BPQ | Black stand-alone keypad with built-in 125kHz proximity card reader |
Do not order SK-1323-BDQ when proximity-card access is required. The similar B suffix identifies the black housing, while DQ and PQ identify different credential capabilities.
SK-1323-BDQ vs. SK-1323-SDQ
- SK-1323-BDQ: Standard-width keypad, black housing, no proximity reader.
- SK-1323-SDQ: Standard-width keypad, brushed aluminum housing, no proximity reader.
The electrical and access-control functions are closely related, but the housing finish and exact part number are different. Match the requested model before ordering.
SK-1323-BDQ vs. SK-2323-SDQ
- SK-1323-BDQ: Standard-width black keypad measuring approximately 4-3/4 x 3 x 7/8 in.
- SK-2323-SDQ: Narrow mullion-style keypad in an aluminum finish.
The SK-2323 series has a different physical footprint and mounting style. Do not substitute it based only on user capacity or relay specifications.
Package Contents
SECO-LARM's current installation manual lists the following items with the keypad package:
- 1 keypad
- 1 manual
- 4 mounting screws
- 4 screw anchors
- 1 security screw
- 1 star wrench
- 1 mounting template
- 2 diodes
- 2 metal oxide varistors (MOV)
A separate power supply, gate operator, electric strike, magnetic lock, request-to-exit device, door contact, or access-control enclosure should not be assumed included.
Gate Operator and Door Lock Compatibility
The two Form C relay outputs can commonly interface with low-voltage access-control inputs that accept a dry-contact command. For an automatic gate, verify which operator input is intended for keypad access and whether that input requires a momentary N.O. contact or another configuration.
For electric locking hardware, verify operating voltage, current draw, fail-safe or fail-secure behavior, and whether a separate power supply is required. The keypad relay is rated 1A at 30VDC and should not be overloaded.

Technician Note
When using this keypad with a gate operator, the safest approach is normally to use the keypad relay as a dry-contact access command into the operator's designated access-control input rather than trying to power gate equipment from the keypad relay.
SECO-LARM instructs installers to properly ground the keypad and to use the supplied diode or MOV protection where required for the connected locking device. Wiring and grounding should follow the current installation manual and the requirements of the connected gate or door equipment.
Installation and Safety Notes
SECO-LARM instructs that when the keypad is used with a mechanically operated door or gate, it should be mounted at least 5 ft away from the moving door or gate so a person using the keypad cannot be crushed, pinned, or reach into the moving system.
The keypad is an access-control device only. It does not replace gate photo eyes, safety edges, emergency access provisions, door reversal systems, or other required safety equipment. Never bypass an operator safety circuit to make a keypad installation work.
