Transmitter Solutions RECTSNANO318 318 MHz HIVE Nano Receiver Compatibility Details
The Transmitter Solutions RECTSNANO318 is the 318 MHz configuration of the HIVE Nano Long Range Receiver family. Current Transmitter Solutions product documentation specifically lists the Nano receiver as available in a 318 MHz version with 44-memory capacity. The receiver family provides one channel, one C-NO relay output, 12-24 VAC/DC self-adjusting power, and a published range of 500 to 600 ft.
The current public Nano product page publishes the broader family part number as RECTSNANO rather than separately displaying RECTSNANO318. The 318 MHz frequency and 44-memory configuration are specifically identified on that page. Verify the receiver label when replacing an existing unit because the 318 MHz, 433 MHz, and 868 MHz Nano versions are not radio-frequency interchangeable.
What the RECTSNANO318 Receiver Does
The HIVE Nano is a compact stand-alone radio receiver designed to accept a compatible transmitter command and activate one relay output. The C-NO contact arrangement provides Common and Normally Open relay contacts for compatible low-voltage control inputs.
HIVE Nano family documentation describes receiver applications involving gates, garage doors, automatic closing systems, rolling shutters, awnings, anti-burglar equipment, and lighting control. The exact transmitter protocol and connected equipment interface must still be confirmed for the 318 MHz receiver before installation.

Linear MegaCode Compatibility Requires Confirmation
The supplied RECTSNANO318 product title identifies the receiver as Linear MegaCode compatible. However, the current public Transmitter Solutions Nano receiver page and current HIVE Nano cut sheet do not explicitly state Linear MegaCode compatibility for the RECTSNANO318 configuration. They also do not provide an exact model-number list of compatible 318 MHz transmitters.
This is important because Transmitter Solutions explicitly states Linear MegaCode transmitter compatibility on its separate HIVE318WSA 1000-user receiver page. The manufacturer does not currently use that same compatibility statement on the Nano receiver page.
Exact public MegaCode compatibility could not be fully confirmed for RECTSNANO318. Before ordering this receiver specifically for an existing Linear MegaCode system, verify the physical receiver label, existing transmitter part number, 318 MHz protocol, and applicable Transmitter Solutions compatibility documentation for the hardware revision being supplied.
Do Not Match a Receiver by 318 MHz Frequency Alone
Transmitter Solutions currently lists multiple 318 MHz transmitter products and multiple 318 MHz receiver families. A matching 318 MHz frequency does not by itself prove transmitter compatibility.
The current Transmitter Solutions 318 MHz transmitter catalog includes DIP-switch and programmable transmitter families. Some individual programmable transmitters are documented for specific Linear remote families. The current RECTSNANO product page does not positively identify those individual transmitter SKUs as compatible with RECTSNANO318.
Confirm the exact transmitter part number and protocol before programming remotes to this receiver. Do not assume every 318 MHz Linear-compatible, DIP-switch, or programmable transmitter will operate the Nano receiver.
44-Memory Product Page and 85-User Cut Sheet Conflict
Current Transmitter Solutions documents do not state the Nano memory specification consistently. The current Nano product page specifically lists 318 MHz with 44 Memory, 433 MHz with 85 Memory, and 868 MHz with 85 Memory. The current HIVE Nano cut sheet instead lists 85 memorizable users in its general specifications without separating the three frequency versions.
For RECTSNANO318, the frequency-specific current product page identifies 44-memory capacity. Customers requiring more than 44 memory positions should confirm the physical receiver revision and current manufacturer specification before ordering.
One C-NO Relay Output
The current Nano receiver specifications list one relay with C-NO contacts. This provides Common and Normally Open contact operation. The current family documentation does not list a Normally Closed contact for the Nano receiver.
Confirm that the gate operator, garage door controller, access controller, or other connected equipment accepts a Normally Open relay command. A system requiring an NC contact or multiple receiver channels should not automatically use RECTSNANO318 as a replacement.
Adjustable Time Hold Feature
The current HIVE Nano cut sheet lists an adjustable time hold feature of up to 30 seconds. The Nano family is intended to provide a relay control signal rather than replace the connected operator or controller's safety logic.
Confirm the required relay activation behavior for the equipment being controlled. Do not change safety, entrapment protection, emergency access, or door reversal circuits to accommodate a receiver output.
Power Supply Requirements
The HIVE Nano receiver family operates from 12-24 VAC/DC self-adjusting power. Current manufacturer documentation lists 9 mA consumption at rest at either 12V or 24V, 26 mA with the relay activated at 12V, and 31 mA with the relay activated at 24V.
Verify the available low-voltage power source before installation. For damaged transformers, unknown voltage, unsafe wiring, charging faults, or internal operator electrical problems, have a qualified gate, garage, low-voltage, access control, or electrical technician inspect the system.
Compact Receiver Housing and Installation Environment
The current Nano product page lists dimensions of 2 x 1-1/4 x 3/4 inches. The current HIVE Nano cut sheet lists approximately 2 x 1.25 x 0.8 inches. The small difference appears in current manufacturer documents and should be considered when enclosure clearance is extremely limited.
The receiver family carries an IP2X housing protection specification. IP2X is not a weatherproof outdoor enclosure rating. For gate installations or other exposed locations, install the receiver inside a suitable protected equipment enclosure.
Similar Receivers Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
- RECTSNANO433: The current Nano product page lists the 433 MHz version with 85-memory capacity. It is a different frequency configuration and should not be substituted for a 318 MHz receiver.
- RECTSNANO869: The current Nano product page lists an 868 MHz version with 85-memory capacity. Matching the Nano housing does not make it compatible with 318 MHz transmitters.
- HIVE318WSA: This separate 318 MHz 1-channel receiver is explicitly documented by Transmitter Solutions as compatible with Linear MegaCode transmitters and provides 1000-user capacity, an LCD display, coax antenna, and wiring harness. It is not automatically the same replacement as RECTSNANO318.
- RECTNANO*-GDO: The Nano GDO is a separate low-consumption garage retrofit receiver family available in 318 or 433 MHz. The manufacturer separately documents specific LiftMaster model applications for the GDO receiver. Those LiftMaster compatibility claims should not automatically be applied to the standard RECTSNANO318.

Package Contents
The current Transmitter Solutions Nano product page and cut sheet do not provide a detailed package contents list for RECTSNANO318. Do not assume a compatible transmitter, 2-button handheld programming remote, separate power supply, external antenna kit, or weatherproof enclosure is included unless specifically shown with the product being ordered.
Technician Note
The biggest issue on this SKU is the MegaCode compatibility claim. Transmitter Solutions explicitly states MegaCode compatibility for the separate HIVE318WSA receiver, but the current Nano page does not make that same statement for RECTSNANO318. Also, the product page says the 318 MHz Nano has 44-memory capacity while the general cut sheet says 85 users. Check the exact receiver revision and transmitter protocol before using RECTSNANO318 for a Linear MegaCode replacement or a site needing more than 44 memory positions.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact RECTSNANO318 catalog SKU and physical receiver label.
- Verify that the required frequency is 318 MHz.
- Check the exact existing transmitter part number.
- Confirm the transmitter radio protocol and coding system.
- Verify MegaCode compatibility for the physical receiver revision when replacing a Linear MegaCode receiver.
- Confirm whether 44 memory positions meet the site requirement.
- Verify that one receiver channel is sufficient.
- Confirm the connected equipment accepts a C-NO relay input.
- Verify that the required relay operation matches the Nano receiver configuration.
- Confirm 12-24 VAC/DC low-voltage power.
- Check the protected enclosure and mounting location for the IP2X receiver.
- Confirm separately required transmitters, programming accessories, power accessories, and enclosure parts.
Installation and Service Notes
The current Nano receiver page lists push-to-learn programming and a 2-button handheld programming remote as programming options. Because the currently linked detailed Nano manual is specifically labeled RECTSNANO433 and specifies 433.92 MHz operation, do not automatically apply every 433 MHz programming or transmitter procedure to the 318 MHz receiver without confirming the correct 318 MHz instructions.
When replacing a receiver because of short transmitter range, inspect the transmitter condition, receiver placement, nearby metal, enclosure construction, and possible radio interference before assuming the receiver electronics have failed. Published range is 500 to 600 ft, but actual installed range can vary with the site.
Do not bypass photo eyes, monitored safety edges, entrapment protection, emergency access, fire access, garage door reversal systems, or operator safety circuits while installing or testing this receiver. The radio receiver provides a control command and does not replace required safety functions.
Professional Advisory
If the existing receiver protocol, relay wiring, power source, or transmitter compatibility cannot be positively identified, have a qualified gate, garage, low-voltage, or access control technician inspect the system. Do not directly switch an unknown mains-voltage or high-current load through the receiver relay.
Product Questions and Answers
Is RECTSNANO318 officially documented as Linear MegaCode compatible?
The supplied product title identifies Linear MegaCode compatibility, but the current public Transmitter Solutions Nano receiver page and HIVE Nano cut sheet do not explicitly state MegaCode compatibility for RECTSNANO318. Transmitter Solutions separately and explicitly documents MegaCode compatibility for its HIVE318WSA receiver. Verify the RECTSNANO318 hardware revision and transmitter protocol before ordering it specifically for a MegaCode system.
Does RECTSNANO318 have 44-memory or 85-user capacity?
The current frequency-specific Transmitter Solutions Nano product page lists the 318 MHz version with 44 Memory. The current general HIVE Nano cut sheet lists 85 memorizable users without separating the 318, 433, and 868 MHz versions. For RECTSNANO318, use the 44-memory product-page specification and confirm the physical receiver revision when higher capacity is required.
Can any 318 MHz transmitter be programmed to RECTSNANO318?
No compatibility should be assumed from frequency alone. Transmitter Solutions offers multiple 318 MHz DIP-switch and programmable transmitter families, and the current RECTSNANO page does not provide an exact 318 MHz transmitter model list. Confirm the transmitter part number and radio protocol before ordering.
Can RECTSNANO318 directly replace the HIVE318WSA MegaCode receiver?
Do not treat them as direct replacements. HIVE318WSA is explicitly documented as Linear MegaCode compatible, has 1000-user capacity, an LCD display, coax antenna, and wiring harness. RECTSNANO318 is a compact 1-channel Nano receiver with a frequency-specific product-page listing of 44-memory capacity. Verify the transmitter system and installation requirements before changing receiver families.
Does RECTSNANO318 provide a Normally Closed relay contact?
No. Current HIVE Nano specifications list one C-NO relay output, providing Common and Normally Open contacts. A system requiring a Normally Closed contact should not use this receiver as a direct replacement without confirming the control design.
What power supply does the RECTSNANO318 receiver use?
The HIVE Nano receiver family is specified for 12-24 VAC/DC self-adjusting power. Verify the available low-voltage supply before installation and have unsafe wiring, damaged transformers, or unknown electrical circuits checked by a qualified technician.
Is RECTSNANO318 the same as the 318 MHz Nano GDO receiver?
No automatic interchange should be assumed. Transmitter Solutions publishes the Nano GDO as a separate low-consumption garage retrofit receiver family and documents specific LiftMaster applications for that model. Those GDO compatibility claims should not automatically be applied to the standard RECTSNANO318 receiver.
Are a transmitter or programming remote included with RECTSNANO318?
The current Nano product page and cut sheet do not provide a detailed package contents list for RECTSNANO318. The manufacturer lists a 2-button handheld programming remote as a receiver family programming option, but this does not confirm that a transmitter or programming remote is included. Confirm package contents before ordering.
