Transmitter Solutions REPTX 433 MHz HIVE Repeater Compatibility and Service Details
The Transmitter Solutions REPTX is a HIVE 433 MHz single-frequency repeater catalog SKU for compatible radio control systems. A repeater is used between the transmitting device and receiving equipment when the supported radio signal needs to be received and retransmitted from another location.
The supplied REPTX catalog information identifies 433 MHz operation and 12/24 VAC/DC power. Current public Transmitter Solutions receiver documentation does not separately list REPTX on the manufacturer's receiver index, and an exact current REPTX manual or technical cut sheet could not be fully confirmed. Verify the physical product label and installed HIVE radio system before ordering an exact replacement.
What the REPTX Repeater Does
REPTX is identified as a single-frequency repeater. Its intended application is to work with a compatible 433 MHz radio system and retransmit supported radio communication from the repeater location toward the receiving equipment.
The repeater should not be confused with a gate receiver or relay receiver. A receiver normally accepts a compatible transmitter command and provides a Wiegand, RF bus, or relay output depending on the receiver model. REPTX is identified as a radio repeater and should not be assumed to provide a gate control relay output.
433 MHz HIVE Radio System Application
The REPTX catalog description identifies the unit for a 433 MHz HIVE application. Transmitter Solutions currently documents multiple 433 MHz HIVE receiver and transmitter products, but the current public product information reviewed does not provide an exact REPTX-to-transmitter or REPTX-to-receiver compatibility matrix.
Do not assume that every 433 MHz remote, receiver, or wireless device can use REPTX. Matching frequency alone does not confirm the coding method, manufacturer key, rolling-code system, transmitter protocol, or repeater compatibility.
Exact Transmitter and Receiver Compatibility Requires Confirmation
Before adding a REPTX repeater, identify both ends of the radio system:
- The exact transmitter part number sending the radio command
- The exact receiver model that must receive the repeated signal
- The documented operating frequency
- The radio protocol or coding system
- The existing antenna arrangement
A site using a 433 MHz HIVE receiver should not automatically be treated as REPTX compatible without confirming the transmitter and receiver family. Transmitter Solutions has offered several different 433 MHz radio products with different receiver functions and programming architectures.
Single-Frequency Repeater Is Not a Frequency Converter
REPTX should not be ordered to convert a 295 MHz, 318 MHz, or 418 MHz transmitter into a 433 MHz transmitter system. The supplied catalog information identifies the product as a 433 MHz single-frequency repeater.
The repeater does not make a transmitter operating on another frequency compatible with a 433 MHz receiver. A frequency or protocol migration may require the correct receiver and compatible transmitters rather than a repeater.
12/24 VAC/DC Power Requirement
The supplied REPTX catalog description identifies 12/24 VAC/DC power. Verify the available low-voltage control power and the actual repeater terminal labels before installation.
Do not connect unknown mains voltage directly to the REPTX power input. When the available power source, transformer output, or access control power wiring is unclear, use a qualified gate, garage, low-voltage, or access control technician.
Repeater Placement and Radio Coverage
Repeater location is an important part of a radio coverage application. The REPTX should be positioned where the compatible transmitter signal can reach the repeater and where the repeated signal can reach the intended receiver.
A repeater placed completely outside the usable transmitter coverage area cannot be expected to correct the original radio path. Likewise, placing the repeater next to a source of severe interference or inside an unsuitable metal enclosure may affect radio performance.
Exact REPTX placement distances and published range specifications could not be fully confirmed in current public manufacturer documentation. Test the radio system under actual site conditions before finalizing the repeater location.
Check the Antenna System Before Adding a Repeater
Poor transmitter range is not always a repeater problem. Before adding REPTX, inspect the existing transmitter, receiver, and antenna system.
- Check the transmitter battery and physical condition.
- Verify the transmitter is the correct frequency and protocol.
- Inspect the receiver antenna connection.
- Check remote coax for damage when a coax antenna is installed.
- Look for loose antenna connections.
- Consider nearby metal, motors, and radio interference.
- Verify the receiver has proper low-voltage power.
A damaged antenna or incompatible transmitter can make a good receiver appear to need a repeater.
REPTX Is Not a Replacement for a Receiver
Do not replace a failed 433 MHz gate receiver with REPTX unless the system documentation specifically calls for the repeater. REPTX is identified as a repeater, not a stand-alone relay receiver or Wiegand receiver.
Transmitter Solutions HIVE receiver products use different output architectures, including relay outputs and Wiegand outputs. Match the actual failed component before ordering.
Similar HIVE Products Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
- REPTX is identified as a 433 MHz single-frequency repeater.
- RECTSPOWC4P is a separate 433 MHz four-relay receiver catalog SKU.
- RECTSWIE434 is a separate 433 MHz Wiegand receiver catalog SKU.
- RECTSWIE433-ADJ is identified as an adjustable 433 MHz Wiegand receiver application.
- HIVE Mini Outdoor receivers are stand-alone relay receivers and should not automatically be treated as repeaters.
- A 433 MHz receiver does not become REPTX compatible based only on frequency.
Verify the product function, radio protocol, receiver type, and physical part label before substituting similar HIVE equipment.

Package Contents Require Confirmation
Exact current public package contents for REPTX could not be fully confirmed. Do not assume that an antenna, remote coax kit, transformer, mounting hardware, transmitter, or receiver is included unless the specific product package states otherwise.
When replacing an existing unit, compare the physical REPTX label and installed antenna hardware before ordering additional components.
Technician Note
The biggest mistake with REPTX is ordering it just because a 433 MHz remote has poor range. First match the transmitter and receiver protocol and inspect the antenna system. REPTX is a repeater, not a universal 433 MHz booster and not a replacement gate receiver. The repeater has to be compatible with the actual HIVE radio system and placed where it can receive the original signal and retransmit it toward the receiver.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Verify the part number REPTX on the existing product or system documentation.
- Confirm a 433 MHz single-frequency repeater is required.
- Identify the exact transmitter part number.
- Identify the exact receiver part number.
- Verify the transmitter and receiver use a compatible HIVE radio protocol.
- Do not order by 433 MHz frequency alone.
- Confirm 12/24 VAC/DC low-voltage power is available.
- Inspect the existing receiver antenna and coax system.
- Determine whether the repeater can be located within usable transmitter coverage.
- Check for metal obstructions and radio interference.
- Verify the repeater antenna requirements.
- Confirm the exact REPTX package contents.
Installation and Service Notes
Test the original transmitter at several locations and inspect the receiver antenna system before installing a repeater. A weak transmitter battery, damaged remote, loose antenna connection, damaged coax, or incompatible transmitter can produce the same short-range complaint.
Place the repeater only where it can receive the compatible transmitter signal and provide a practical radio path toward the receiver. Exact REPTX placement distances should be verified under actual site conditions.
For unknown low-voltage power wiring, damaged receiver circuits, or unclear radio system compatibility, use a qualified gate, garage, or access control technician. Do not bypass photo eyes, monitored safety edges, entrapment protection, emergency access, fire access, or other operator safety circuits while troubleshooting radio range.
