Transmitter Solutions 418ELPW1V Stingray 418 MHz Elite DT-418 Compatibility Details
The Transmitter Solutions TRARAY418ELPW1V is the Gate Openers Unlimited catalog SKU for the Stingray transmitter identified by Transmitter Solutions as model 418ELPW1V. This is a programmable one-button visor transmitter operating at 418 MHz for compatible radio and access control systems.
Transmitter Solutions specifically identifies the 418ELPW1V as compatible with the Elite DT-418. The manufacturer also documents the transmitter for programmable telephone entry systems, anti-burglar systems, and access control systems operating with a compatible 418 MHz input and supported 26-bit credential format.
What This Transmitter Does
The 418ELPW1V sends an individually numbered 418 MHz wireless credential to a compatible receiver. The one-button transmitter uses a green Button A for the authorized function assigned by the installed receiver or access control system.
This is a programmable transmitter and does not use an 8-position or 10-position DIP-switch code bank. Each transmitter is manufactured with a factory-set sequence number and facility code. The credential information must be programmed into compatible system memory.
All Verified Compatibility and Applications
- Elite DT-418 transmitter applications.
- Compatible 418 MHz programmable telephone entry systems using the supported transmitter credential format.
- Compatible 418 MHz anti-burglar systems using the supported transmitter credential format.
- Compatible 418 MHz access control systems using the supported transmitter credential format.
- Receiver applications capable of handling the manufacturer-documented 26-bit transmitter credential and compatible 418 MHz radio format.
Elite DT-418 Compatibility
The current Transmitter Solutions product page and exact 418ELPW1V cut sheet specifically identify Elite DT-418 compatibility. This is the strongest documented replacement application for the one-button Stingray 418ELPW1V.
Verify the original transmitter and installed receiver before ordering. The Elite name alone does not establish compatibility with every Elite, Chamberlain, LiftMaster, or gate operator radio system. The receiver must use the applicable 418 MHz transmitter format.
Factory-Set Facility Code and Sequence Number
The Transmitter Solutions manual states that each 418ELPWxV transmitter is manufactured and sold with a different factory-set sequence number and facility code.
The manufacturer documents a 16-bit security code providing 65,536 code combinations and an 8-bit facility-code field providing up to 256 facility codes. The transmitter facility code and sequence number must be programmed into compatible system memory.
For an HOA, gated community, apartment property, commercial facility, parking application, or other managed access system, confirm the required facility code and transmitter-number arrangement before ordering additional transmitters.
26-Bit System Application Caution
The manufacturer manual states that the transmitter may be used with receivers capable of receiving the documented 26-bit input format. The model cut sheet describes Wiegand 26-bit programmable telephone entry, anti-burglar, and access control applications.
Do not interpret this as universal compatibility with every access panel that has a 26-bit Wiegand input. The installed system also needs a compatible 418 MHz radio receiver that recognizes the transmitter credential. A Wiegand terminal on a control panel does not by itself provide 418 MHz Stingray radio compatibility.
418 MHz Range and Radio Performance
The manufacturer documents AM/ASK modulation and a free-space range of 60 to 120 yards. Actual installed range may be lower because of receiver antenna location, metal operator cabinets, buildings, radio interference, and other site conditions.
A transmitter that suddenly works only at close range may have a weak 23A battery. Receiver antenna or interference problems can also make a good transmitter appear defective.
One-Button Stingray Configuration
The manufacturer documents two Stingray 418 MHz visor models:
- 418ELPW1V - one-button transmitter with green Button A.
- 418ELPW2V - two-button transmitter with green Buttons A and B.
The exact 418ELPW1V is the one-button version. Confirm that the application requires only the function assigned to Button A before replacing a two-button transmitter with this model.
Similar Parts Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
The Stingray 418ELPW2V is the related two-button visor transmitter. Transmitter Solutions specifically identifies that model as compatible with the Elite DT-418-2. Do not substitute the one-button 418ELPW1V when the existing system requires both Button A and Button B functions.
The Monarch 418ELPW1K-C is also a programmable one-button 418 MHz transmitter documented for Elite DT-418 compatibility, but it is a separate keychain transmitter family. The Monarch model uses two CR2016 lithium batteries and includes the manufacturer's ChargeGuard battery-status feature. The Stingray 418ELPW1V is a visor transmitter using one 12V type 23A alkaline battery.
Do not select between Stingray and Monarch models based only on Elite DT-418 compatibility. Verify the exact replacement model, housing style, battery system, and property credential requirements.
318 MHz, 433 MHz, and other-frequency Stingray transmitters are not replacements for the 418ELPW1V. Fixed-code DIP-switch transmitters are also not automatic substitutes for this programmable facility-code and sequence-number transmitter.

Package and Battery Check
The manufacturer specifies one 12V type 23A alkaline battery as the required transmitter power source. The public product page, cut sheet, and manual do not clearly list every current retail package component or specifically confirm a new battery or visor hardware in every package. Confirm current package contents when those items are required.
Technician Note
The biggest ordering mistake with the 418ELPW1V is matching only the Elite name or 418 MHz frequency. Check the exact original remote. The one-button Stingray is specifically documented for Elite DT-418, while the two-button Stingray 418ELPW2V is documented for Elite DT-418-2. Also do not confuse the Stingray visor model with the Monarch 418ELPW1K-C keychain transmitter. Both have documented DT-418 compatibility, but their housings, battery systems, and product families are different.

Programming and Service Notes
The transmitter facility code and factory-set sequence number must be programmed into compatible system memory. Use the programming procedure for the exact installed receiver, telephone entry system, or access control platform.
Do not attempt to program the 418ELPW1V by copying DIP-switch positions. The manufacturer manual states that the installer or reseller should provide the programming instructions for the applicable receiving system.
The manufacturer specifies one 12V type 23A alkaline battery. Battery access is through the sliding battery door. Install the battery with the polarity shown in the transmitter enclosure. The red transmitter LED should illuminate when Button A is pressed.
If the transmitter LED does not illuminate, the manufacturer troubleshooting information directs the user to replace the transmitter battery. If the LED is on but the system does not receive the signal, verify that the transmitter has been programmed into the system. Reduced operating range is also a manufacturer-listed reason to replace the battery.
Professional Advisory
Do not bypass photo eyes, monitored safety edges, entrapment protection, emergency access, fire access, door reversal systems, or operator safety circuits while troubleshooting a transmitter or receiver problem. Unclear receiver wiring, Wiegand interfaces, operator inputs, or access control electrical faults should be inspected by a qualified gate, garage door, or access control technician.
