LiftMaster MYQCS4VXXW Solar Panel Compatibility and Charging Details
The LiftMaster myQ MYQCS4VXXW is a weather-resistant solar charging panel designed specifically for the myQ Outdoor Battery Camera. It helps maintain the camera's rechargeable battery so the camera can remain installed outdoors with less frequent manual recharging.
The panel produces 3.7 watts at 5 VDC and connects to the compatible camera through an attached 6.5-foot USB-C cable. Its adjustable mounting assembly provides 360-degree rotation and 180-degree tilt for positioning the panel toward available sunlight.
Confirmed Camera Compatibility
- LiftMaster and myQ MYQ-C39VXXW Outdoor Battery Camera
- myQ Outdoor Battery Camera packages that specifically identify MYQCS4VXXW as the compatible solar panel
The manufacturer describes the MYQCS4VXXW as working exclusively with the myQ Outdoor Battery Camera. Do not order this panel based only on the presence of a USB-C charging port.
What the MYQCS4VXXW Does
The solar panel converts available sunlight into low-voltage charging power for the compatible outdoor camera. When correctly positioned and connected, it helps maintain the camera battery during normal operation.
The panel does not provide Wi-Fi, video recording, motion detection, app access, or camera functions by itself. Those features are supplied by the compatible MYQ-C39VXXW camera, the myQ app, the user's network, and any applicable monitoring plan.
Important Battery Charging Limitation
The MYQCS4VXXW is intended to maintain the level of an already charged camera battery. The current installation guide states that it does not charge the camera from empty.
Fully charge the myQ Outdoor Battery Camera using its normal charging method before connecting the solar panel. A camera with a completely depleted battery may remain offline even when the panel is installed in direct sunlight.
Sunlight Requirements
Install the panel where it can receive direct sunlight for at least 2 to 3 hours per day. Trees, roof overhangs, buildings, fences, seasonal shadows, and nearby structures can reduce charging performance.
For best results, the current installation guide recommends facing the panel generally south and tilting it upward approximately 30 degrees. The correct final angle depends on the building, season, geographic location, and available sunlight.
Adjustable Mounting System
The mounting assembly allows up to 360-degree rotation and 180-degree tilt. This makes it possible to position the solar panel toward sunlight even when the camera itself must face another direction.
The panel must remain within reach of the attached cable. Official documentation lists a 6.5-foot cable, while the mounting guide instructs the installer to select a location within approximately 6 feet of the camera to allow for routing and connection clearance.

Temperature and Weather Conditions
The panel is designed for outdoor use and has a published operating range from -4 F to 122 F. However, the camera battery charges only within a narrower temperature range of approximately 32 F to 113 F.
Charging may pause during freezing temperatures, extreme heat, prolonged cloud cover, or low-light conditions. This does not automatically indicate a defective panel. Charging should resume when sunlight and temperature return to an acceptable range.
Although the panel is weather resistant, the cable connection should be fully seated and installed as directed. Do not leave connectors partially inserted or positioned where standing water can collect.
Package Contents
- One MYQCS4VXXW myQ Solar Panel with attached charging cable
- One locking screw cap
- One universal joint
- One mounting base
- Four mounting screws
- Four wall anchors
The MYQ-C39VXXW Outdoor Battery Camera is not included with this standalone solar panel. Required tools, ladder, drill, masonry bit, measuring tape, screwdriver, and sealant are also not listed as included.
Mounting Surface and Hardware Checks
The supplied wall anchors are documented for suitable cement, brick, stone, or drywall applications. The correct mounting hardware may differ for stucco, siding, wood, metal panels, concrete block, tile, or other exterior surfaces.
Orient the mounting base with its drainage notch at the bottom. This helps reduce water and ice accumulation around the mounting assembly.
Before drilling, verify that the location is clear of electrical wiring, plumbing, structural components, and other concealed hazards. Use anchors and sealing methods appropriate for the wall material and local weather exposure.
Installation Overview
- Fully charge the MYQ-C39VXXW camera before connecting the solar panel.
- Select a mounting location within cable reach of the camera.
- Confirm that the panel will receive at least 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Use the base to mark the mounting holes.
- Drill pilot holes and install suitable anchors when required.
- Mount the base with the drainage notch positioned at the bottom.
- Install the locking screw cap into the universal joint.
- Thread the universal joint into the back of the solar panel and tighten the attached nut.
- Attach the locking screw cap and joint assembly to the wall base.
- Adjust the panel for maximum sunlight and tighten the locking screw.
- Route the cable securely and connect it to the compatible camera.
- Check the camera battery status through the myQ app.
Charging Performance Checks
If the camera battery continues to discharge, confirm that the panel is not shaded during the main daylight hours. Seasonal changes can cause a location that worked during summer to become shaded during winter.
Inspect the panel for dust, pollen, leaves, bird droppings, salt residue, or other debris. Clean the surface periodically with a damp cloth so sunlight can reach the panel.
Also check the USB-C connector, cable routing, camera charging port, battery condition, motion activity, spotlight use, recording frequency, Wi-Fi strength, and ambient temperature. Heavy camera use may consume power faster than limited sunlight can replace it.
Important Compatibility Warning
The USB-C connector does not make the MYQCS4VXXW a universal solar charger. The manufacturer states that it is intended exclusively for the myQ Outdoor Battery Camera and warns that another use may damage other battery-powered equipment.
Do not connect the panel to another camera, video doorbell, smart lock, video keypad, mobile device, garage accessory, or rechargeable battery unless the manufacturer specifically approves MYQCS4VXXW for that product.

Technician Note
A solar panel that cannot keep up with the camera does not automatically need replacement. Insufficient direct sunlight, heavy motion activity, frequent livestream viewing, spotlight use, weak Wi-Fi, dirty panel surfaces, cold weather, extreme heat, or an aging camera battery can all reduce performance.
Check the camera battery level in the myQ app over several sunny days. If the battery continues to fall despite correct placement, clean the panel, verify its angle, inspect the connector, and confirm that the camera charges normally from its standard charging cable.
Professional Advisory
Use appropriate ladder practices and exterior mounting hardware. Do not mount the panel where service requires reaching over a roof edge, energized electrical equipment, moving garage door components, or another unsafe area.
Exterior drilling, elevated installation, concealed wiring concerns, damaged siding, masonry work, water intrusion, or uncertain mounting surfaces should be handled by a qualified installer or contractor.
