AES EL00IG-SH, Shell Assembly, EL00IG, In-Ground
The AES EL00IG-SH is a replacement shell assembly for select AES EL00IG In-Ground e-Loop wireless vehicle detection units. It is used when the original in-ground shell is damaged, weathered, cracked, faded, or no longer suitable for protecting the internal e-Loop detection components.
This shell assembly replaces the physical housing portion of the compatible EL00IG unit. It does not replace the internal detector electronics, radar PCB, receiver, transceiver, battery, magnet, wiring, gate operator input, or the complete vehicle detection system.
The EL00IG-SH should be ordered by exact part number and installed e-Loop model. Do not choose this shell only by appearance, because AES offers several similar e-Loop shell assemblies for commercial, light industrial, mini, and post-mount versions.
What This Shell Assembly Does
The EL00IG-SH provides the replacement outer shell / housing for compatible AES EL00IG in-ground e-Loop units. The shell helps protect the internal detection components from normal outdoor exposure, physical wear, driveway conditions, and cosmetic damage when installed correctly in the proper in-ground application.
This part does not perform vehicle detection by itself. Detection still depends on the EL00IG sensor electronics, radar PCB or internal detection board where equipped, battery condition, receiver or transceiver pairing, radio range, installation position, calibration, and the connected gate operator input.
Compatible With
Use the AES EL00IG-SH only where the installed product, AES documentation, original parts list, or supplier cross-reference confirms EL00IG shell compatibility. Compatibility depends on the exact e-Loop model, housing style, installation method, and internal component layout.
- Select AES EL00IG In-Ground e-Loop applications where EL00IG-SH is listed as the replacement shell assembly
- Select AES EL00IG / EL00IG-RAD in-ground wireless loop detection units where the shell design and parts diagram match
- Repairs where the original shell is cracked, weathered, faded, damaged, or missing
- Service work where the internal EL00IG electronics are still usable and only the shell assembly needs replacement
- Applications where the existing in-ground installation, internal parts, and housing layout match the EL00IG shell design
- Repairs where the original part number, product label, or parts diagram identifies EL00IG-SH
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not assume all AES e-Loop shell assemblies are the same. The EL00IG-SH is for compatible EL00IG in-ground applications only. AES also offers related shell assemblies for EL00C, EL00LI, EL00M, and EL00PM e-Loop models, but those housings are tied to different model families and mounting styles.
If the existing unit is commercial surface-style, light industrial, mini, post-mount, or another AES e-Loop version, verify the correct shell assembly before ordering. A shell that looks similar may not match the same dimensions, sealing surfaces, internal layout, cover profile, or installation method.

Technician Note
For EL00IG repairs, the shell assembly is the correct part only when the outer housing is the problem and the internal components are still usable. If the unit is not detecting vehicles, not pairing, not transmitting, not calibrating, or not powering up, the cause may be the battery, internal electronics, receiver pairing, signal range, water intrusion, or the gate operator input rather than the shell itself.
Inspect the original shell for cracks, impact damage, loose fasteners, damaged sealing surfaces, and signs of water entry. If the old housing allowed moisture into the electronics, check the internal board and battery area before assuming a shell replacement alone will restore operation.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The required part number is EL00IG-SH.
- The installed unit is an AES EL00IG in-ground e-Loop.
- The repair requires the shell / housing assembly only.
- The internal EL00IG electronics, battery, receiver pairing, calibration, and gate operator input are still serviceable.
- The part is not being confused with EL00C-SH, EL00LI-SH, EL00M-SH, EL00PM-SH, or another AES e-Loop shell.
- The package contents are confirmed, especially whether any screws, gasket, seals, labels, mastic, or mounting hardware are included.
- The in-ground installation has not been damaged in a way that requires a complete EL00IG unit or additional hardware.
- The existing driveway or mounting location is clean, dry, and suitable for restoring the in-ground e-Loop housing correctly.
Installation and Service Notes
- Follow AES service instructions for the installed EL00IG in-ground e-Loop.
- Power down or open the e-Loop only as directed by the AES service procedure.
- Document the existing internal component position, seal orientation, and mounting arrangement before removing the old shell.
- Do not force internal components, fasteners, or seals into the replacement shell if the fit does not match the original EL00IG layout.
- Inspect for moisture, corrosion, cracked plastic, damaged battery leads, loose fasteners, and worn sealing surfaces before reassembly.
- Do not install the in-ground e-Loop in an area where standing water can sit over the unit or where the housing cannot be seated correctly.
- After replacement, test vehicle detection, receiver response, gate activation input, calibration, and normal gate operation.
- Do not bypass monitored gate safety inputs, photo eyes, safety edges, access control wiring, or required entrapment protection during testing.
Professional Advisory
A qualified gate technician should service the system if the e-Loop is not detecting vehicles reliably, the receiver is not responding, the gate activates unexpectedly, the EL00IG unit has water damage, or the operator input behavior is unknown. This shell should only be used for the intended EL00IG in-ground housing repair and should not be used to bypass gate safety or access control protections.
Product Questions & Answers
What is the AES EL00IG-SH used for?
The AES EL00IG-SH is used as a replacement shell assembly / housing for select AES EL00IG in-ground e-Loop wireless vehicle detection units.
Does EL00IG-SH include the complete e-Loop detector?
No. EL00IG-SH is the shell assembly only. It does not include the e-Loop detector electronics, receiver, transceiver, battery, magnet, wiring, gate operator, or complete vehicle detection system.
Is AES EL00IG-SH for in-ground units only?
Yes. EL00IG-SH is intended for EL00IG in-ground applications only. It should not be used for commercial surface-style, mini, light industrial, or post-mount e-Loop models unless AES documentation confirms compatibility.
No. EL00IG-SH is the replacement shell / housing. EL00IG-RAD-PCB is a related electronics board for EL00IG-RAD applications and should not be substituted for the shell assembly.
No. EL00IG-SH is for compatible EL00IG in-ground applications. EL00C-SH and EL00M-SH are related shell assemblies for different AES e-Loop model families and are not automatic replacements.
Can this shell fix an EL00IG that is not detecting vehicles?
Only if the problem is related to the damaged shell or housing condition. Detection problems can also be caused by the battery, internal electronics, receiver pairing, radio range, water intrusion, calibration, or gate operator input issues.
What should I check before ordering AES EL00IG-SH?
Confirm the exact EL00IG-SH part number, installed EL00IG model, shell-only repair need, package contents, and whether the issue is housing-related rather than a battery, electronics, receiver, or installation problem.
